The Middle East has a rich tradition of commerce, and of architecture, particularly in response to the harsh climate. While many tall office buildings have adopted the “international” model of glass-clad boxes, several key financial institutions in the region have adopted a more vernacular style that conserves energy, avoids overheating, yet communicates the sense of security and monumentality befitting their occupants. This program takes place in one/two of Jeddah’s significant tall building landmarks, with presentations on similar projects around the region.
